Involvement for Better Neighbourhoods

Local Impact

Residents can have real impact on the quality of their neighbourhoods by getting involved at a local level.

Neighbourhood Inspections

Simply Said has an excellent Neighbourhood Inspection procedure and training package.

Residents score neighbourhoods on the basis of litter, untidy gardens and other blights. Scores are tabulated and compared to motivate staff and support strategic management.

We work closely with staff and residents, providing training and attending neighbourhood inspections to ensure the procedure works effectively.

Street Reps

Residents can become Street Reps and score the quality of cleaning in flats or of grass cutting. We can introduce a Street Rep scheme with training according to the existing service standard.

Residents Groups

We have an excellent track record of setting up residents groups to support social regeneration.

As with any type of involvement, we promote a flexible approach. Where residents do not wish to join committees, we promote the idea of Neighbourhood Panels. These are local groups which do not have a committee and whose administration is overseen by a housing officer.
